NPB Pacific League: Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles 5 – 3 Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters
José Ureña delivered a dominant performance out of the bullpen as the Tohoku Rakuten Golden Eagles defeated the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters 5-3 in 12 innings at ES CON Field Hokkaido. Ureña entered the game in the bottom of the 11th inning with the score tied 3-3 and kept the Fighters off the scoreboard. The right-hander pitched two scoreless innings, allowing just one hit while striking out six of the seven batters he faced without issuing a walk. After the Eagles scored two runs in the top of the 12th to take a 5-3 lead, Ureña finished the game and earned his third win of the season.
