A huge congratulations to José Ruiz, who earned his first-ever NPB victory on May 9th! Coming out of the bullpen in the 7th inning against the Tigers, Ruiz continued his season-long dominance by striking out two and keeping the opponent scoreless. His 14-pitch outing paved the way for the BayStars’ offense to take the lead, securing the “W” for the hard-throwing righty. With his ERA now sitting at a microscopic 0.84, Ruiz has officially established himself as one of the most reliable and untouchable relievers in Japan.
