NPB Central League Climax Series First Stage:
Yokohama DeNA BayStars 2 – 1 Tokyo Yomiuri Giants
The BayStars took a 2-1 lead in the top of the ninth inning on a solo home run by Takateru Watarai, and Reynolds entered in the bottom half to protect the one-run advantage. Reynolds allowed a leadoff double, and a sacrifice bunt moved the potential tying run to third base with one out. However, the right-hander retired Bobby Dalbec on a pop fly to first and Takumi Oshiro on a fly ball to left field to end the game.
Reynolds threw 20 pitches in a scoreless ninth inning to earn his first save of the postseason.
