NPB Central League: Yokohama DeNA BayStars 1 vs 0 Dragons
Jerar Encarnacion provided the game-deciding spark for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars on August 29th, launching a solo home run—his 11th of the season—in the bottom of the 2nd inning against the Chunichi Dragons. Encarnacion struck early in the 2nd frame, obliterating a pitch deep over the fence to open the scoring. That solo blast proved to be all DeNA needed, holding up as the decisive blow in a tight pitching duel. Encarnacion finished 1-for-4 with a home run, an RBI, and a run scored while keeping his season average at a strong .288. Continuing to hit clutch home runs, Encarnacion remains a primary driver of the BayStars’ offense.
