Andres Machado slammed the door once again on May 31st, throwing a dominant, scoreless 9th inning to lock down his 16th save of the season as the Buffaloes defeated the Dragons in Interleague action. Entering the game to protect the lead in the bottom of the 9th, the electric right-hander was highly efficient, needing just 14 pitches to navigate through the final frame. While he surrendered a single hit, Machado remained completely unfazed, racking up a strikeout and issuing zero walks to stifle any hope of a Chunichi comeback. With this flawless performance, the star closer lowered his spectacular season ERA to a microscopic 1.42, continuing to act as an unhittable firewall at the back of the Orix bullpen.
