Carter Stewart Jr. battled through a tough outing on May 28th, tossing 5.0 gritty innings to secure his 3rd win of the season as the Hawks defeated the Giants in Interleague action. The American right-hander ran into plenty of traffic, scattering seven hits and issuing two free passes (one walk, one HBP) which led to four earned runs. Despite not having his sharpest command and seeing his season ERA sit at 6.92, Stewart Jr. showed great resilience, racking up three strikeouts and making clutch pitches when it mattered most to hold the line. Backed by a powerful SoftBank offense, he did just enough to lock down the victory and pocket another crucial win.
