NPB Central League Climax Series Final Stage: Yokohama DeNA BayStars 1 – 0 Osaka Hanshin Tigers
Sean Reynolds escaped a ninth-inning jam to secure the Yokohama DeNA BayStars’ 1-0 victory over the Hanshin Tigers at Koshien Stadium. The BayStars took the lead in the top of the eighth inning on a solo home run by Shugo Maki, and Reynolds entered in the bottom of the ninth to protect the one-run advantage.
After striking out the first batter, Reynolds issued a walk and allowed an infield single. A double steal then put runners on second and third with one out, putting both the tying and winning runs in scoring position. However, Reynolds responded by striking out Seiya Kinami and retiring Torai Fushimi on a ground ball to second base to end the game.
The right-hander threw 25 pitches in a scoreless ninth inning, recording two strikeouts to earn his second save of the Final Stage.
