NPB Central League: Carp 2 vs 0 Tigers
Elehuris Montero provided all the offense the Carp needed, launching a decisive solo home run in the top of the 4th inning to break a scoreless tie. Montero was locked in at the plate all day, finishing 3-for-4 to raise his batting average to .278. His 5th blast of the season proved to be the game-winner, as Hiroshima’s pitching staff made the slim 1-0 lead stand up. Montero’s elite power and ability to deliver in crucial moments are quickly making him the focal point of the Carp’s lineup.
