Raidel Martinez earned his first “W” of the season on May 12th, following a dramatic walk-off victory for the Giants. Called upon in the top of the 9th with the score tied, Martinez kept the Carp bats silent, allowing no hits and striking out one to keep the score deadlocked. His steady performance set the stage for a cinematic ending in the bottom half of the inning, where a no-out, two-run blast sent the fans home happy. Martinez’s ERA now sits at 2.38 as he continues to be a pillar of strength at the back of the Giants’ bullpen.
