Hansel Marcelino put on a high-octane display out of the bullpen on August 1st, tossing a scoreless inning with three big strikeouts against the Yomiuri Giants. Entering as the BayStars’ fourth pitcher of the night, the explosive right-hander fought through a 32-pitch battle, allowing one hit and one walk. Despite facing traffic on the bases, Marcelino dialed up his heat and put on a strikeout clinic to completely shut down the Giants’ threat. By delivering a scoreless outing and maintaining a 3.81 ERA, Marcelino proved to be a high-upside strikeout weapon in Yokohama’s relief corps.
