Elier Hernandez has been declared a free agent.
Hernandez joined the Yomiuri Giants mid-season last year and was highly productive, appearing in 56 games and recording a .294 batting average with eight home runs and 30 RBIs, contributing to the team’s league championship.
However, in his second season in Japan, he was hampered by injuries, limiting him to 52 games. His performance declined significantly, finishing with a .211 batting average, two home runs, and eight RBIs.
