NPB Central League: Tokyo Yomiuri Giants
The Yomiuri Giants have declared pitcher Kyle Keller a free agent.
Keller, who spent two seasons with the Osaka Hanshin Tigers, was initially released by the Tigers despite an impressive 1.71 ERA across 27 appearances in 2023 (his second year with the team). He subsequently joined the Tokyo Yomiuri Giants for the 2024 season.
In his first year with the Giants last season, he was highly effective, posting a 1.53 ERA and 20 holds over 52 appearances, contributing significantly to the team’s league championship. This season, due in part to foreign player roster constraints, he was limited to 45 appearances, finishing with six holds and a 3.11 ERA.
