NPB Pacific League: Orix Buffaloes
Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) announced that infielder Jordan Diaz has been officially posted as a free agent.
Diaz, who made his Major League debut with the Oakland Athletics in 2022, also represented Team Colombia in the 5th World Baseball Classic (WBC) in March 2023.
Acquired by the Orix Buffaloes for the 2025 season based on his hitting ability—including 10 home runs in 90 games during the 2023 MLB season—Diaz ultimately failed to meet expectations. In his single NPB season, he appeared in 50 games, hitting just .228 with two home runs, leading to his departure after only one year with the team.
