Tony Blanco, who played for the Chunichi Dragons, Yokohama DeNA BayStars, and Orix Buffaloes in Japanese professional baseball, was involved in a nightclub ceiling collapse in his native Dominican Republic and died at the young age of 43.

Tony Blanco was a former professional baseball player from the Dominican Republic. He played for the Chunichi Dragons from 2009 to 2012, the Yokohama DeNA BayStars from 2013 to 2014, and the Orix Buffaloes from 2015 to 2016.

In his first year with the Chunichi Dragons, he hit 39 home runs and drove in 110 runs, earning the home run and RBI titles.

In 2013, he hit 41 home runs for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars and won his second RBI title.

His eight-year career in Japan included a .272 batting average, 181 home runs, and 542 RBIs.

He captivated Japanese professional baseball fans with his powerful hitting.
