Making his Climax Series debut as the leadoff second baseman, JETER DOWNS:singled to left field in the first inning after the team had fallen behind by one run. He later scored the tying run on Yamakawa’s RBI single to left. In the second inning, he added another single to left, and in both the sixth and eighth innings, he reached base with walks.
