The Tokyo Giants signed Marek Chlup from the Czech Republic as a prospective player on Sept. 25th.
On Oct.1st, Chlup participated in the first-team practice for the first time, and on Oct.2nd, in a pro-amateur exchange game against Hitachi Ltd team (an amateur team in the industrial baseball league), he made his debut in Japan, playing as the 6th batter and right fielder, and recorded the first home run. Chlup started as the 5th batter and right fielder in the Phoenix League game against SoftBank Hawks (Pasific league of NPB), held in Miyazaki on the 12th. In the 6th inning, he hit the second home run, already.
